Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Chiliz Sports S.L. collects through this website and in its agency work, why, who receives it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have.

Interim version, pending legal review. Last updated:

1. Who we are

This website, Telescope Sports, is managed by Chiliz Sports S.L., Madrid, Spain ("Chiliz Sports", "we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described here. For anything about your data, contact our privacy contact at privacy@telescopesports.com.

2. What this policy covers

This website (telescopesports.com, and telescope.chiliz.com, which redirects to it) in every language, and the two forms on our Contact page: the brief and the hot-deals sign-up. It also covers the personal data we process in our business activities, including the agency work described in section 4. It is not addressed to our employees or consultants. Websites we link to have their own policies.

3. The data we collect and why

(When you send us a brief.) You tell us who you are (brand or sponsor; club, league or rights-holder; athlete or agency; press), what you want to achieve, your target markets and budget range, and your name, company and work e-mail. Only your e-mail and your consent are required. We use this to read your brief, reply to you and discuss a possible partnership. Our legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the box before you send (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); if we go on to discuss an agreement, also steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)). The website does not store your brief: it sends it to our team as an e-mail, and our e-mail provider keeps that copy in the team's inbox.

(When you sign up for hot deals.) We collect your work e-mail, the language of the page, and a record of your consent: when you confirmed and which version of the wording you agreed to. We use it to e-mail you availability and pricing of sponsorship opportunities as they come up. Our legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 21 of Spain's Law 34/2002 on information society services). We use double opt-in: our website stores nothing when you sign up and sends one e-mail with a confirmation button; our e-mail provider processes your address to deliver it and keeps its own delivery logs; the link works for 72 hours, and only when you press it do we add your address to our mailing list. Every hot-deals e-mail we send has a one-click unsubscribe link.

(When you visit the website.) Your browser sends technical data with each request, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit. We use it to deliver the website, keep it secure, stop spam and abuse on our forms, and understand in aggregate how the site is used. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and you can object at any time. Our host keeps short-lived server logs; Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form is sent by a person; and we measure visits with Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which use no cookies and report to us only in aggregate. If you open the XTB case-study film, YouTube's privacy-enhanced player loads and Google receives your IP address and browser details. Our Cookie Policy describes each of these in detail.

We do not sell your personal data or share it for third-party advertising, and we do not make decisions about you by automated means that produce legal or similarly significant effects. The spam check on our forms is automatic, but it only decides whether a message is sent.

4. Brands, clubs, athletes and partners

In our agency work we process personal data of athletes, brand contacts, representatives, agents, and counterparties at clubs, leagues and event organisers: identification and contact details, professional role, correspondence, contractual terms and the information needed to negotiate, perform and account for agency agreements. The data comes from the people themselves, from the counterparties and from public sources. Our legal bases are steps taken at your request before a contract and the performance of the agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) where you are a party, our legitimate interest for business contacts at organisations (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Art. 19 of Spain's LOPDGDD), compliance with legal and accounting obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)) and our legitimate interest in managing the relationship (Art. 6(1)(f)). We share it only with the parties to the agreement and their and our advisers and providers that need it, under confidentiality. We keep it for the duration of the relationship and for the limitation periods that apply.

Where we rely on our legitimate interest, you can object at any time; we then stop unless we can show compelling grounds that override your interests, or the processing is needed for a legal claim.

5. Who receives your data

For the website, only service providers that process data on our behalf, on our instructions and under data processing agreements:

  • Vercel: hosts the website and provides our cookieless statistics.
  • Cloudflare: provides Turnstile, the spam check on our forms.
  • Resend: sends our e-mails (your brief to our team, and the confirmation e-mail) and keeps our hot-deals mailing list.
  • Google: hosts our team's e-mail (Google Workspace), where your brief arrives.
  • Google (YouTube): plays the XTB case-study film when you open it; the privacy-enhanced player loads only then, and Google processes your IP address and browser details under its policies.

For agency work, the recipients are the parties to the agreement and their and our advisers, under confidentiality, which may include a transfer outside the European Economic Area where the agreement is performed there; section 6 describes the safeguards for transfers to our providers. We may also disclose data where the law requires it, for example to a court or public authority.

6. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some of these providers are based in, or use sub-processors in, the United States. Where personal data leaves the EEA, we rely on safeguards the GDPR recognises: an adequacy decision of the European Commission (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, for certified companies) or the Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for details at privacy@telescopesports.com.

7. How long we keep it

  • Briefs: while we discuss your enquiry and for up to two years after our last exchange. If it leads to an agreement, as long as the law requires for that agreement.
  • Hot deals: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After that we keep only the record of your consent (address, time and wording version) for as long as we may need to show we had it, at most three years.
  • Unconfirmed sign-ups: our website stores nothing; the link simply expires, and our e-mail provider's delivery logs follow its own retention.
  • Server logs and security data: only as long as our providers need them for operation and security, usually days to weeks.
  • Agency work: for the duration of the relationship and the limitation periods that apply to the agreement.
  • Visit statistics: aggregate reports that do not identify you, kept only as long as we need to understand how the site is used.

8. Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what we did before; for hot deals, use the unsubscribe link in any e-mail. To exercise any right, write to privacy@telescopesports.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we will answer within one month. If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es), or to the authority where you live or work.

9. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), limit access to the people who need it, and keep as little as possible. The link in our confirmation e-mail is encrypted, so your address never appears in it in readable form, and our website does not record your form answers in its logs.

10. Children

This website is for businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children, and through this website we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version here with its date. If a change affects consent you gave, we will ask you again.
